“…To start off, I would like to thank the Frederick Allen Lodge #609 of the Improved Benevolent  Protective Order of Elks of the World for this scholarship. I’m very honored and grateful to receive this generous award. 

Being the student of color with the highest GPA means more to me than just grades—not only does it reflect the countless hours spent on schoolwork, it also reflects the endless support I’ve received from my family, friends, and teachers. From a young age, I’ve witnessed my parents’ hardwork and dedication towards our family and their work. They’ve been my biggest inspiration and taught me the importance of hard work and perseverance, values I’ve applied to every aspect of my life, including school. My friends and teachers constantly encouraged me, casting away my doubts. I’ve received support from countless people and to them, I’d like to say “thank you.” 

Once again, I’d like to thank you Frederick Allen Lodge #609 for this generous scholarship. This scholarship will help alleviate the financial burden of college tuition and allow me to pursue a degree in Computation and Cognition at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the fall. “
